Spektakl „ARCADIA” to malownicza opowieść o życiu i wszystkich jego etapach. Dzięki impresyjnym obrazom, pełnym ruchu, kolorów i dźwięków, możemy na chwilę zwolnić i dostrzec to, co jest naprawdę ważne. W wielu momentach będziemy śmiać się w głos, w innych zrobi się nostalgicznie. Nowoczesność podkreślona choreografią, minimalistyczną scenografią i różnorodną gatunkowo muzyką (m.in. Dead Can Dance, Stevie Wonder, Doris Day, aranżacja popularnej piosenki żołnierskiej „Rezerwa” skomponowana przez Janusza Grzywacza, wreszcie aria z „Madame Butterfly”) zetknie się z typowym dla Jerzego Zonia klimatem lat 50. i 60. Spektakl inspirowany poezją Tadeusza Różewicza zostawia nas z odwiecznym pytaniem o sens życia. Et in Arcadia Ego – I ja żyłem w Arkadii. Gdzież więc jest ta nasza Arkadia? Gdzie jej szukać? I przede wszystkim – czy warto?

W „ARCADII” osnową i tematem zasadniczym przedstawienia jest lament po śmierci bohatera, pokazujący jego dobre i złe uczynki. Życie współczesnego Everymana (od narodzin po śmierć) jawi się jako odtańczony w szalonym tempie rytuał przemijania. Nieodparte poczucie tęsknoty – za światem, za sztuką, za sobą samym – towarzyszy nam od pierwszej do ostatniej sceny spektaklu. Komicznym i tragikomicznym obrazom towarzyszy melancholijny dystans wobec upływającego czasu. W spektaklu nie spotykamy goryczy ani żalu za tym, co bezpowrotnie mija. W ich miejsce pojawiają się za to dziecięca radość, śpiew i zabawa. W nich ukryty jest raj. Zoń tym przedstawianiem powraca do najpiękniejszych obrazów ze wszystkich swoich dotychczasowych sztuk. Tka arkadyjski pejzaż ze wszystkiego, co najpiękniejsze i najokrutniejsze w ziemskim życiu. W seansie Teatru KTO bierze udział dziesięcioro aktorów, a dominującym elementem scenografii jest ławka, a właściwie… dziesięć ławek. To one, w różnych konfiguracjach, budują przestrzeń spektaklu, są tworzywem uniwersalnym i ponadczasowym. Przypominają nam o życiu przedmiotów, często wielokroć dłuższym niż ludzka egzystencja.

ENG “ARCADIA” is a picturesque story about life and all its stages. Thanks to the impressionistic images, full of movement, colours and sounds, we can slow down for a while and notice what is really important. At many moments we will laugh out loud, at others it will get nostalgic. Modernity emphasised by choreography, minimalist set design and genre-diverse music (including Dead Can Dance, Stevie Wonder, Doris Day, an arrangement of a po-
popular soldier song “Reserve” composed by Janusz Grzywacz, and last but not least an aria from “Madame Butterfly”) will encounter the typical 50s atmosphere of Jerzy Zoń’s work.
The performance, inspired by the poetry of Tadeusz Różewicz, leaves us with an eternal question about the meaning of life. Et in Arcadia Ego – I too lived in Arcadia. So where is our Arcadia? Where should we look for it? And above all – is it worth it?

In „ARCADIA”, the plot and the main theme of the performance is the lamentation after the hero’s death, showing his good and bad deeds. The life of a modern Everyman (from birth to death) appears as a frantic pace, a dance ritual of passing away. An irresistible sense of longing – for the world, for art, for ourselves – accompanies us from the first to the last scene of the performance. The comic and tragicomic images are accompanied by a melancholic distance to the passing time.

In the performance, we do not encounter bitterness or regret for what is irretrievably gone. Instead, they are replaced by children’s joy, singing and fun. Paradise is hidden in them.

With this spectacle, Zoń returns to the most beautiful images of all his works to date. He weaves an Arcadian landscape out of everything that is most beautiful and cruel in earthly life.

Ten actors take part in a seance of the KTO Theater, and the dominant element of the scenery is a bench, or rather … ten benches. They, in various configurations, build the space of the performance, they are universal and timeless material. They remind us of the life of objects, often many times longer than human existence.

“ARCADIA” is a presented within the framework of the KTO Theatre’s project called Four Shades of Theatre and co-financed from the funds of the European Economic Area (EEA) Financial Mechanism 2014-2021, Programme ”Culture”, Outcome 2: ”Access to Culture and Art Improved”.

Spektakl „ARCADIA” powstał w ramach projektu Cztery Odcienie Teatru, który korzysta z dofinansowania w ramach Mechanizmu Finansowego Europejskiego Obszaru Gospodarczego (MF EOG) 2014–2021
