7. Międzynarodowy Festiwal OPEN THE DOOR: koncert zespołu „The Tiger Lillies”

Zespół The Tiger Lillies został założony w 1989 roku w Londynie, a 35 lat później ich brzmienie wciąż jest unikatowe i oryginalne. Muzycy od samego początku wyróżniali się charakterystycznym stylem, a ich kariera, która rozpoczęła się w londyńskich i czeskich pubach, ewoluowała od Piccadilly Theatre, poprzez uliczne muzykowanie, aż do opery w Sydney. Sami siebie od początku określali mianem Brechtowskiego Kabaretu Punkowego, a jakiś czas później objeżdżali już cały świat, dając koncerty i uczestnicząc w różnych artystycznych i teatralnych projektach.

Podczas tegorocznego katowickiego koncertu zespół zagra w składzie: Martyn Jacques – głos, akordeon, fortepian, ukulele, Adrian Stout – kontrabas, theremin, piła muzyczna, drumla, Budi Butenop – perkusja, prezentując głównie piosenki ze swojego najnowszego albumu „Lessons In Nihilism”.

Koncert The Tiger Lillies w Teatrze Śląskim będzie równocześnie oficjalnym otwarciem 30. jubileuszowego Międzynarodowego Festiwalu Sztuk Performatywnych A Part.

EN: 7th International Festival OPEN THE DOOR: The Tiger Lillies

The Tiger Lillies were formed in 1989 in London, and 35 years later their sound is still unique and original. Musicians were distinguished by their unique style from the very start, and their career, which began in London and Czech pubs, evolved from the Piccadilly Theatre to street music to the Sydney Opera House. From the beginning they have called themselves the Brechtian Punk Cabaret, but some time later, they were already touring all over the world, giving concerts and participating in various artistic and theatrical projects.

During this year’s concert in Katowice, the band will play as follows: Martyn Jaques – vocals, accordion, piano, ukulele, Adrian Stout – double bass, theremin, musical saw, jaw harp, Budi Butenop – drums, presenting mainly songs from their latest album “Lessons In Nihilism”.

The Tiger Lillies’ concert in the Silesian Theatre will also be the official opening of the 30th A Part International Performing Arts Festival.
