Theater that crosses borders returns to Katowice!

The 8th edition of the OPEN THE DOOR International Festival, one of the most important and unique theatre events in Poland, starts on June 6. Until June 15, Katowice will once again be a meeting place for artists from all over the world – a space to discuss what is important, difficult and current. For the first time, the festival events will also be hosted in Dąbrowa Górnicza.

About the festival
The OPEN THE DOOR International Festival, thanks to its openness and inclusiveness, is one of the most unique festivals in Poland. Its program includes, among others, works by artists with disabilities and artists from disadvantaged social groups.

At the OPEN THE DOOR we present the most interesting phenomena of Polish and foreign contemporary theatre. Festival presentations arouse emotions, provoke discussion and familiarize with what is foreign, difficult and often unavoidable. In a special way we focus on the phenomenon of exclusion, which can be caused by many different reasons, and above all we stand for inclusion. We overcome barriers, break stereotypes, cross borders. Selected festival events will be presented in Polish Sign Language (PJM), with subtitles and with audio description.

In the program of the 8th edition of the Festival we have planned:

• 3 film screenings,
• meetings and workshops.
