Get up, Korfanty!

Time to wake up!

Speak to the people!

Who among us would not want to change the world for the better? So that reality – both social and political – would be our way? Who has not dreamt of revolution, upheaval and rebellion, let him be the first to cast a stone...

Or stand at the gates of hell, like Wojciech Korfanty in the latest play by Artur Pałyga. Join us on this Dantesque journey guided by one of the Fathers of Independence, a Silesian hero and revolutionary. It will not be a primrose path, but rather full of questions, dilemmas and unusual encounters. What was the point of Korfanty’s social revolt? Was this great Silesian a true rebel, or was he nevertheless a political cynic? What metaphysical forces were involved in the Silesian uprisings? And finally: is hope the mother of the foolish, or does it die last?

The year 2023 marks 150 years since the birth of Wojciech Korfanty, the most important figure in the history of Upper Silesia. To mark the occasion, we invite you to a musical performance by Artur Pałyga, with songs by The Baboon Show, directed by Robert Talarczyk. Let’s bring back the rebellious energy of 100 years ago, ask uncomfortable questions, topple monuments and air this shed!
