Mężczyzna klęczy na podłodze przy płonącej świecy, odpala od niej drugą świece , którą trzyma w ustach

Modern interpretation of canonical literature and theatre work. Performance has its beginning in a shelter for the rejected, ones who came to nothing in life, dropped out from the rat race, found themselves at the social margin as "dead when living". Among them there is Enchanter, earlier a painter, deamer, who in certain late fall evening produces a seance in the shelter. During this "night of forefathers" come all Mickiewicz shades.

Yong creators (R. Rychcik and M. Zadara) more and bravely challenge one of the most shrouded with legends drama text. In Katowice intepretation K. Babicki deliberately put nation’s history on a fate of not young but mature man after ordeal who account for many close to madness fears. Moving part of Gustaw-Konrad by Grzegorz Przybył.

In Gustaw-Konrad played by Grzegorz Przybył would find for sure a soul-mate those, who couldn’t spring into existence f.ex. in politics, ‘cause they did’t agree on compromise, didn’t accept any short-cuts or didn’t want to participate in the rat race. Saying Great Improvisation he doesn’t quarrel with God. He reproaches him for lost youth. Przybył voices text without pathos. With bitternesss. For him especially painful are words about loneliness.

Rzeczpospolita

Przybył’s creation positively singles out from tissue of the whole performance. Not only because he impersonates main protagonist but his method of a presentation of a character couldn’t go unnoticed. Przybył plays modern man tired from life on a set of historic arenas, where other heros form a background only. Little Improvisation, Great Improvisation, exorcisms at last – there are successives parades of acting skill and talent.

Nowa Siła Krytyczna

In this performance everything is worthy a commendation but the greatest value is taking-breath-away actors’ work. G. Przybył as Gustaw/Konrad is hypnotising, also Violetta Smolińska in part of Mrs Rollinson.
