In last monthe Teatr Śląski had enriched with fourth stage situated in… Galeria Katowicka [Katowice Mall]. Now during shopping one can come around to the show. But no one shouldn’t think that artists will serve audience light and entertaining performances. On the contrary, and a sign of that is first premiere spectacle "Stones", a story about war correspondent struggling with trauma of front-line experiences and his wife worring every day about her beloved’s life.
Main valor of their collective conceptional work is skillful balance of emphasis. Stones are first – accordingly to its literary exemplar – tale how we treat real wars in third world – as a training ground for our own battles for self-esteem and self-agency. But just as well it might be read as a parable about contemporary quasi-partnerships – efficient machines of success, springboards for getting Full Life elsewhere, in professional or virtual sphere. Artistic cooperative under Błaszczykowski guidance shows (through harmonious matching of all performance elements) that liberating from schematic roles is in the first place a venture for defeat – defeat of our projections, illusions, justifications. Still what’s important the defeat is experienced together.
