We are a nominee for a title EUROSYMBOL of Culture Heritage 2017

The Stanisław Wyspiański Teatr Śląski as an industry quality indicator

EUROSYMBOL 2017 is an all-Poland programme awarding good media image and the highest quality policy. EUROSYMBOLS (given in several categories) are a sign of an appraising of to-date deeds and achievements of the institutions and companies whose mark became – in the eyes of Jury – representative and identical of the whole industry.

We inform with pleasure that we’re the nominee to the title EUROSYMBOL of Culture Heritage 2017. The laureates will be know during gala on 24th November in Centrum Biznesu in Katowice.

EUROSYMBOL is a programme run by "Monitor Rynkowy" (independent supplement of "Dziennik Gazeta Prawna") and "Monitor Biznesu" (independent supplement of "Rzeczpospolita").

Season 2016/2017 has ended. Behind us 6 opening nights and loads of emotion. Thank You for being with us during these 10 months. Surely You look forward to the vacation – for us it will be not only leisure but work on account of the next season, that is 110 Theatre anniversary, opening of "Art" by Y. Reza, dir. by Tadeusz Bradecki, auteur performance of Przemysław Wojcieszek, or Ingmar Villqist play inspired by a life and works of Joseph Konrad. We will also have at our stages: Nikolay Kolyada and Maja Kleczewska. See You at the auditorium!

Our box-office will closed during the vacation and opens on 1 September. Booking possible through our Audience Attendance Office [Biuro Obsługi Widzów] from 1 August on.

Lars Koch judged worldwide

Are you curious what kind of sentences were handed down in other countries?

Not only Katowice audience can take part in Lars Koch’s lawsuit titled "Terror". Our production in Silesian Parliament Hall is the only one in Poland, but citizens of 11 other countries can take part in the lawsuit as well. A special web page was created where informations on the hearings and voting are retained. There were 1355 hearings until now, and 334 699 lay judges were voting – 204 148 sentenced not guilty, but not every Terror performance ended well for major Koch. "Terror" has opened and the accused found not guilty

First hearing in Silesian Parliament Hall behind us

First court case with audience’s active involvement behind us. There were 185 people present during premiere performance of Terror, and 140 of them voted not guilty, the rest, 45, found him guilty.

"Terror" by Ferdinand von Schirach is the newest title of Teatr Śląski which is presented in Silesian Parliament Hall with active participation of audience acting as lay judges. Next presentations in September in a new season.
